Collection One- “Nature’s Mother”
-Summer Turns to Autumn-
Three primary motifs establish the backdrop for this ongoing collection: seascapes sanity, domestic displays, and floral femininity collectively weave a narrative in a realm where women are rendered through the discerning eyes of a female artist. Whether reinterpreting a narrative or presenting a personal viewpoint, these works bear the profound influence of the "mad woman" in historical literature and the Sublime ideals inherent in the Romanticism art movement. Allow me to introduce to you the embodiment of this amalgamation: Nature's Mother.
Nature’s Mother is the first collection of paintings within the four seasons transitional series titled ‘The Skies Between’. Inspired by 19th Century Victorian era studies of female hysteria, paired with Nostalgic Sublime attributes of self-preservation and iconography from the Romanticism art movement, we witness nature and woman’s similar battle against mankind. The underlying tones of climate change and woman rights underline the aesthetic choices grounded in both historical context and personal research gathered through the artist's travels and writings.
